MUMBAI: Pharma major Strides Arcolab climbed a little over 14% on the Bombay Stock Exchange a day after the company announced its collaboration with Pfizer to commercialise certain generic products in the US.
The shares of Strides Arcolab surged to Rs 268.90 on BSE within minutes of trade, a 14.44% gain over its previous close.
Similar movement was seen on the National Stock Exchange, where the stock jumped nearly 15% to Rs 269.90.
In early trade, a total of 19.32 lakh shares of Strides Arcolab changed hands on both the bourses.
Yesterday, Strides Arcolab and Pfizer entered into a collaboration under which, Pfizer would commercialise "off-patent sterile inject able and oral products in the US".
The first of the products commercialised under the new collaboration is expected to be launched this year.
Shares of Strides Arcolab were trading higher 12.58% at Rs 264.50 on BSE at 0904 hrs.
