The anouncement was made during trading hours today, 8 March 2010.
Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex was up 152.74 points, or 0.90%, to 17,147.23.
On BSE, 1.07 lakh shares were traded in the counter as against an average daily volume of 1.08 lakh shares in the past two weeks.
The stock hit a high of Rs 165.50 and a low of Rs 161.20 so far during the day. The stock had hit a 52-week high of Rs 183.80 on 15 October 2009 and a 52-week low of Rs 35.50 on 6 March 2009.
The company said new work orders include two orders worth Rs 647 crore to build expressway at Hyderabad, three orders worth Rs 358 crore for various turnkey electrical works in Mumbai, a Rs 99 crore order from NTPC, a Rs 63 crore order from Indian Oil Corporation and a 54 crore order to build guest house in Agartala, Tripura.
